How does it work?
The Honda Odyssey has received many awards, including a recent IntelliChoice “Best Overall Van of the Year.” Now, this best in class van is available as a wheelchair accessible van with the VMI Northstar fully automatic conversion.
With VMI’s One-Touch Remote, the passenger side sliding door opens, the PowerKneel lowers the van suspension to reduce the slope of the ramp even further, and the in-floor ramp extends to allow easy access to the lowered floor interior.
Honda Odyssey with the VMI Northstar conversion is engineered to create 11” of additional headroom in the doorway and van interior, without compromising ground clearance. This provides a comfortable fit for most adults using manual wheelchairs, power chairs, or scooters.
What makes Honda Odyssey with VMI Northstar conversion different?
With an 11” lowered floor conversion, VMI’s Honda Odyssey offers more headroom than other in-floor ramp conversions, including more headroom in the front driver and passenger positions. VMI Northstar conversion also includes tumble forward 3rd row seats, which provide more cargo space than any other lowered floor conversion minivan.

We can install many other kinds of adaptive equipment on your wheelchair accessible van, to meet your specific needs.
Common examples include hand controls for operation of accelerator and brake; spinner knob for steering wheel; driver or passenger transfer seat base; electric lockdown system for securing wheelchair or power chair; electric parking brake; remote start. Financing Options for Wheelchair Accessible Vans
We work with lenders who understand our industry and accessible van conversions.
Extended term financing is one popular option for many accessible vans. For New vans, 10-year financing is available. For newer model Pre-Owned vans, the financing term is usually less than 10 years, but longer than typical banks or credit unions. You may also choose a shorter term loan and/or pay off the loan early with no pre-payment penalty.
Low interest loans are also available if you do not need extended term financing.
If you already have a strong relationship with your bank or credit union and do not need extended term financing, we will provide any information your lender needs to consider financing for your wheelchair accessible van.
